The paintings of Jamas are serene yet give the observer a view into worlds of sublime
rapture and subtle delicacy. These worlds do not exists anywhere but in the most luxuriant of day-dreams
where life is, by degrees, somehow more alive. It is as if he takes the essence of beauty and melds it gently with
the tranquility of sleeping beneath a hot sun. His technique is exquisite and his sense of color a joy to behold- every detail
of Jamas painting is like candy to the senses.
Born and raised in the Monterey Bay, Jamas has painted since he was a boy, beginning in pencil and pen & ink he eventually
was employed as a silkscreen illustrator in his teenage years. He has worked extensively with computer graphics in the past.
Now working with glass, live performance paintings and body art, he often chooses the more traditional form of oil
painting. HIs influence from John Mason is apparent but his ability is transcendent of this. The works of Famous Jamas are
not simply a delight to those that see them, but a lasting memory.
